About
Rob
Everything you ever wanted to know but were afraid to ask. |
|
I am originally from Carroll County in north central Indiana, about 50 miles north of Indianapolis. My parents both had careers in town but we lived in a small farming community. Until I left home I worked on my family's, and other farms in the area. Growing up in this small rural community with it's values has had a profound impact on my way of thinking and the way I lead my life. I will always have a special place in my heart for Carroll County and what I learned growing up there. Today my family and I live in a community not unlike where I grew up full of good, hardworking people who are always willing to lend a hand.

Education I graduated from Carroll High School in 1983. I attended technical school achieving an Associate Degree in management. A great deal of my education since has been through work related training and self study. I also have certifications as a Firefighter, EMT, and Wastewater Operations. The school of hard knocks has worked well for me, I have the scars to prove it. However I recommend the traditional course of college for those just starting out. Never underestimate the value of practical experience but you still need an education to get anywhere. |

Politics It is no stretch to call me a Conservative. I have a very Conservative background and have come to believe that Conservative ideas and principles best represent my personal believes. The older I get the more I realize that what is generally misrepresented as greed is actually the quest for prosperity and success. Of course greed is bad but success and prosperity and the associated rewards does not make one greedy. It is this quest for success that leads to innovation, makes people use their money wisely, and makes our economy work. I believe we have gotten away from personal responsibility and more and more we expect things to be given to us. We tend to forget that in America we live in |
Employment I work for the City of Westfield in Indiana. I run a department that operates the automated systems of the City, primarily those running the Water and Wastewater systems. The Instrumentation and Control Department was established in 2006 to address the continued demands of the city's ever expanding infrastructure. As the city grows we see a greater demand on our automated systems and the need to continue to expand the role of automation. It is an exciting time for Westfield and the challenges ahead will be complicated. We look forward to meeting those challenges. |
Public
Service
In 1994 I began a volunteer career in public safety with the Sheridan Fire Department. In 1996 I also gained certification as an EMT. The Sheridan Fire Department provides fire and EMS service for the Town of Sheridan, Adams Township in Hamilton County, and Marion Township in Boone County in central Indiana. I serve as an officer, Board member, and the department Secretary. It is my way of giving back using a talent that God has given me to help others. I find the work extremely rewarding. |
